Create a Jeopardy Rule

To create a new Jeopardy Rule, select Accounting/Codes/Jeopardy Rule Maintenance from the Masterfiles menu.

  1. Click the button labeled New.

  2. As prompted by the dialog box, accept the next jeopardy rule number in sequence or enter another number of your choosing.

  3. Click OK.

  4. An additional dialog box will prompt the user to enter a description of the new jeopardy rule, using up to 60 characters.

  5. Complete the Create/Edit Jeopardy Rule form.   Screen Shot

  6. The description added above will appear in the field labeled Short Description, which can be edited at this time.

  7. Click the down-arrow icon in the field labeled Type, to select the rule type, i.e., SQL or If/Then.

  8. Select the level of importance of this rule using the down arrow icon in the field labeled Weighting.

  9. Select the appropriate Contact Matrix, if one is to be associated with this rule.

  10. If the rule type is SQL, the upper portion of the task form will become active.  Enter the SQL statement to be used for this rule.   Each statement must select a Work Order Number from a work order table such as WorkOrder; WorkOrderDetail; WorkOrderOpen, etc.

    Note:  The person creating the rule must have knowledge of SQL and the CrossForm table structure.

  11. If the rule type is If/Then, the lower portion of the task form will become active.

  12. Once the criteria for the If/Then Rule has been established, click the button labeled Add.  (Click the button labeled Remove to eliminate an if/then statement.)

  13. At this point, additional If /Then statements can be created.

  14. Click the button labeled Validate Rule.  A message will confirm that this is a valid statement.

  15. To save this Jeopardy Rule, click the button labeled Save.

  16. To exit the form, click the button labeled Close.
