QA Manager
Mainstream Software, a growing application development company, was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio. Job Responsibilities:
- Manages the development and establishment of quality assurance standards and measures for automated and manual testing programs; gathers and analyzes data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements; develops test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in software application development and ongoing maintenance of commercial software.
- Manages the selection, development, and establishment of quality assurance standards, tools, and methodologies.
- Establishes measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
- Manages the development of test plans and scripts to meet optimal application performance and ensure compliance with defined specifications.
- Develops testing activities that allow applications to meet business requirements and system goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
- Develops internal audits to measure and ensure adherence to established quality assurance standards for software development, application integration, performance, and corresponding documentation.
- Collaborates with software and systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
- Reviews reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in applications and projects, and makes recommendations for improvements of applications.
- Participates in requirement definition and verifies that requirements are testable; provides preliminary recommendations for how each will be tested.
- Manages the company's internal defect tracking database for support issues and testing issues.
Qualifications:
- College Degree required.
- Experience in SQL to identify test data and validate results.
- Candidate must have experience in the design, development, and implementation of software quality assurance standards for software testing.
- Candidate must have a strong knowledge of system testing metrics, best practices, and methodologies, and solid knowledge and understanding of automated Quality Assurance systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and departments.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, and effectively use time and resources to accomplish goals.
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in testing large systems or multi-product, single-code base applications.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO 9000 standards and certification.
